Burkina Faso’s 10 men surged to the top of Africa Cup of Nations Group C, with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Ethiopia.
The Stallions took the lead in the first half when striker Alain Traore gathered a clever ball over the top and blasted into the top corner.
Traore doubled their lead on 74 minutes, driving home at the near post, before Djakaridja Kone made it three.
Playmaker Jonathan Pitroipa sealed the rout, after goalkeeper Abdoulaye Soulama had earlier been dismissed.

79 min Burkina Faso take the ball away from Ethiopia, and Pitroipa gets the ball on the counter attack. Tadelle comes forward to close on the midfielder, but he crosses to Djakaridja Kone, who calmly slides the ball in to an open net.

34 min The ball is pulled back to Bance just inside the penalty area. He strikes it well but Debebe is on the line to make the block. Burkina Faso keep possession, and quickly get it back to Traore, who cooly slots the ball in for his second goal of the tournament.
12 min SUBSTITUTION! Behailu Asefa comes on in place of Girma. It’s a shame for Ethiopia, Girma made a big impact in their game against Zambia.
1om INJURY! It looks like Ethiopia might be forced in to an early change. Adane Girma is brought down in the build up to Traore’s shot, and he has to be helped off the pitch. Ethiopia are down to 10 men while a substitute warms up.
