We are confident of advancing- St George’s Biadglign Elias
Defender Biadglign Elias is hopeful that his side will get a crucial result  in the return match against Zamalek on Sunday and qualify for the Orange CAF Champions League group phase. Biadglign Elias who played for the national team earlier in the year at the AFCON finals in South Africa joined St. George at the start of this Ethiopian season from Sidama Coffee. He was speaking  to Cafonline.com about the Sunday encounter against Zamalek.
Cafonline.com: What are your expectations in Sunday’s return match?
Biadglign Elias:I am very optimist that we will win. This is a very decisive meet for both of us. They come here to win because that is the only chance that will qualify them. In any case we will play strong to keep the advantage that we got in Cairo.
Cafonline.com: You were in the national team who played in South Africa. What did you gain from that?
Biadglign Elias: All of us gained confidence. When you play with big teams like Nigeria and Zambia at the start you feel that you are far below them but in the game we saw that we can play well and be on equal level even with those players who have big names and fame. That gives you confidence.

Cafonline.com: Did you expect to reach this stage in the Champions League?
Biadglign Elias: Yes, we were confident that we would make progress in the season’s Champions League. We had a very tough moment when we played  Malian Djoliba side in Addis Ababa. After a 2-0 win in Addis Ababa we had the fear that in the return leg they would beat us with wider margin. Djoliba are tough side but we managed to hold them to a draw in their backyard. We had also feared that Zamalek would win with wide margin in the first leg. But it was not to be so. We are going to be careful not to drop the opportunity that we got in Cairo. Still we are confident to advance.
Cafonline.com: How do you see your first leg match against Zamalek in Cairo?
Biadglign Elias:We played quite well in Cairo. Prior to the game we were told that it is literally impossible to get anything from  Zamalek on their home ground. But once we got underway on the pitch we saw  that it was possible even to beat them on their home ground. Of course they created more chances in that match and they play a well organized football and put us under  pressure. Despite all this  we competed strongly and gave then a good challenge in that match. We also got some scoring opportunities and we could have made them count.
