2014 World Cup: Ethiopia defeats Botswana 2-1 to remain on top of Group A
Lobatse, Botswana – The Ethiopian national football team defeated Botswana 2-1 here today to remain on top of Group A of the African regional qualifying tournament.
Getaneh Kebede (33’) and Salahdin Ahmed (45’) scored for Ethiopia, while Botswana’s lone goal was scored by Tebogo Sembowa (76’).
The victory gives Ethiopia 10 points from 4 matches, and they are closely followed by South Africa (8 pts), which scored a 3-0 away win over Central African Republic.
