Ethiopian Premier League: Defence Force demolishes Lideta Nyala 4-1
Addis Ababa – Defence Force extended their lead of the Ethiopian Premier League with a 4-1 thrashing of Lideta Nyala, while defending champion St. George was held to a 2-2 draw by the visiting Hawassa City here today, reported Ermias Amare on his FB Page.
Defence Force led 3-0 at half-time thanks to a double from top scorer Oumed Oukri and Chala Deriba. A minute into the second half, Yohannes Haile added a fourth. Lideta scored their consolation goal thanks to Bisrat Hailu 13 minutes before the end of the game.
Oumed now leads the EPL top scoring charts with 10 goals, followed by Biniam Assefa of Sebeta City.
St. George vs Hawassa City
The Saints conceded a goal just minute into the game. Michael Abreha was the scorer. However, the two teams were soon leveled as Adane Girma tied the score before half-time.
Hawassa took the lead once more through Bereket Yisak, only for Adana Girma to tie the game once more.
The draw helped Hawassa move up and share second spot with Ethiopian Coffee, which has 2 more games in hand.
St. George remains in 13th place.
