Ethiopian Coffee defeats Adama City 5-2 to join Defence Force at the top
Addis Ababa – Ethiopian Coffee defeated Adama City 5-2 to join Defence Force at the top of the Ethiopian Premier League, reported the Addis Ababa-based sports website EthioFootball.com.
Defence Force (14 matches) and Ethiopian Coffee (15 matches) now have 31 points each but the former has one game in hand and a better goal difference (+18 vs +12).
EthioFootball.com noted that Ethiopian Coffee went ahead in the first minute of the match with a goal by Dawit Estifanos, and a second one by Massoud Mohammed, 18 minutes later.
And that’s how the two teams went to the dressing room at half-time.
Ethiopian Coffee kept the onslaught in the second half with 3 additional goals by Sebsebe Shegere (46’), Mulu Alem Tilahin (62’) and Samuel Taye (71’).
Coffee led 5-0 until the 87th minute before Adama scored two goals by Abiy Moges (91′)and Mohammed Nasser (93′), who joined the team from St. George on loan.
