Ethiopian Premier League: Defence Force extends lead to 6 points
Yirgalem – Defence Force extended its lead of the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) to 6 points with a 1-0 victory over Sidama Coffee here today, while its nearest rivals Ethiopian Coffee and Hawassa City dropped valuable points. The latter lost 2-1 to Mugher Cement in Assela.
As for Ethiopian Coffee, the team failed to take home field advantage when it was held to a 1-1 draw by Trans Ethiopia. After Tesfaye Bekele scored for Coffee, Trans Ethiopia got an equalizer from Michael Assefa in the dying minutes of the game.
Meanwhile, Dedebit hammered last placed Fincha Sugar 4-0 to overtake Ethiopian Coffee for second place on goal differences.
In Dire Dawa, Harar Brewery was leading EEPCO 1-0 at half-time*.
