Ethiopian Football: Adane Girma leads St. George to yet another victory
Addis Ababa – St. George ace striker Adane Girma continues his superb performance in the second round of the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) with yet another goal giving his team its 6th straight victory here today when St. George defeated Mugher Cement 1-0.
Ermas Amare reported on his FaceBook page that despite Mugher’s dominating the game, it was St. George who won the match thanks to a 34-second goal from Adane.
The results of St. George’s last 6 matches indicated that the team scored 12 goals and equally important didn’t allow any goals.
In other matches played yesterday, Dedebit FC demolished Adama City 7-1 here in the capital. Getaneh Kebede scored 4 goals, including one from a spot kick. The other goals came from Shaibu Gabriel (Ghana import), Tadele Mengesha and Tekeste Tekle. Haidur Nasser scored Adama’s consolation goal.
Fifth-placed Hawassa City drew 3-3 with Trans Ethiopia in Adigrat after leading 3-0 at one time.
Meanwhile, Sidama Coffee continued its surprising performance with a 2-0 victory over last placed Fincha Sugar.
