Air Force suffers second defeat in Premier League
Yirgalem, Ethiopia – The newly promoted Ethiopian Air Force FC suffered its second defeat of the new season following a 1-0 loss at the hands of Sidama Coffee here today. Air Force lost 1-0 to Hawassa City during its first league match.
Meanwhile, Mugher Cement maintained its lead of the league despite being held 1-1 by defending champions Ethiopian Coffee in Sebeta.
Dire Dawa City, who lost 1-2 to Mugher last week, was able to steal a point from Adama City (1-1) in Adama.
In the lone match played in Addis Ababa, EEPCO and Defence Force played a scoreless match.
St. George and Dedebit FC are the only two teams in the league who haven’t played a match so far. The two had a number of their players selected for the Ethiopian national team competing in the CECAFA Cup tournament in Tanzania. But now that the Ethiopian team has crashed out of the competition, the two sides will have their full squads to play their first league match of the season next week.
