NBA finals: LeBron James stars as Cleveland tie Golden State
LeBron James inspired the Cleveland Cavaliers to an overtime 95-93 victory at Golden State Warriors to level up the NBA finals at one game each.
James scored a ‘triple-double’ – 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists.
But Golden State overturned a three-point deficit in the final quarter to send the game into added time.
The Cavaliers trailed by a point until Matthew Dellavedova‘s two free throws with 10 seconds remaining tied the best-of-seven series.
“I tried to give it all to my team-mates. And they do a great job of giving it back to me. Total team effort,” said James, 30, who was successful with 11 of his 35 shots from the floor.
“To be back in the same position we were in three days ago and to come back and even the series is big time.”
Golden State won the first game 108-100, also in overtime, on Thursday, and the series now moves to Cleveland for two matches, starting on Tuesday.
