Running Camp with Julia Bleasdale in Ethiopia
We’re delighted to announce that Limalimo Lodge has partnered up with British long-distance runner and Olympian, Julia Bleasdale, to deliver two running camps in the Simien Mountains National Park.
Julia Bleasdale is a professional athlete who trains regularly in high-altitude parts of Ethiopia – affectionately known as ‘the land of running’.
Over the years, Julia has fallen in love with Ethiopia and is returning this autumn to train ahead of the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Limalimo Lodge will be hosting Julia for a period of her training, during which she will host two weekend running camps. Sign up today.
Limalimo Lodge is committed to supporting the local community; during Julia’s stay, she will also host an afternoon training program with local schoolgirls, give a talk at a local school in Debark and meet with communities living in and involved with the Simien Mountains National Park.
The first running camp will take place from 5-8 November (inclusive) and will involve guided runs, talks and training insights. There are just eight places available at each weekend camp (the second will be held in February 2016, date TBC), providing participants with a unique and intimate experience, learning from one of the world’s best long-distance runners.
