Gondar secures 38.6 million Birr revenue from tourism
Gondar, Ethiopia – Over 38.6 million Birr revenue was secured from tourists who visited the historical sites of Gondar Town in Amhara State during the past nine months of the Ethiopian fiscal year, the town culture and tourism department said.
The Department told ENA that the stated sum was obtained from 93,400 local and foreign tourists who visited the sites.
Fasil Gibi, which consists the Castles of King Fasil and his successors, Quskuam Mariam and Selassie Churches and the village once Ethiopian Israelis lived (Falasha Mender) are among the visited sites.
According to the department, the highest number of tourists was Europeans mostly from Germany, France, England, Italy and the USA
